General Expectations

Why is it women only?

I created group fitness sessions for women so they can exercise without the intimidation, judgement and embarrassment they experience around men in a gym environment.

What can I expect from a group boxing session?

Scrap any ideas you have about beating a punching bag by yourself, boxing for fitness is very much a social activity.

Look Good Feel Good Fitness boxing sessions concentrate on pad work. This means you face opposite your partner and throw basic punches or combination punches at them which they block with their boxing pads. Then you swap and block theirs.

Boxing will be combined with some basic body weight exercises.

Each session is designed to give you an all-round workout which will burn calories, improve your fitness and tone all your body.

As your personal trainer leading the session, I will teach you how to hold pads correctly and how to punch properly. There are four main punches to employ: jabs & crosses (straight forward punches), hooks (“side” punches), and upper cuts (punches going upwards).

Sessions run for approximately 60 minutes.

Will I get bored doing this?

You will not get bored because each group session is different from the previous session. You will always be challenged by doing a variety of boxing routines and exercises.

I am not in the best of shape; will I be able to do this?

Absolutely, that’s why your coming to see me! Everyone has to start somewhere and you’ll be amongst many other people in the same position as yourself.

It’s our job to get you in the best shape possible, as quickly and as safely as possible. So you’ll be pushed outside of your comfort zone but never too far, our goal is to keep you motivated and injury free.

Training Information

I've got an injury and/or medical conditions, is that ok?

If you’re concerned with any type of health issue always consult your doctor before undertaking any type of fitness routine.

Will you workout with us or train with us?

No. As your personal training coach I am there to motivate, support and also ensure that you are doing the exercises the safe and right way. You will often find that I move around, pushing each individual while making sure everyone does the workouts safely to avoid injury.

Will you train me military style, wear camouflage and scream in my face?

Absolutely not! My sessions are based on support, I won’t be “in your face” like some boot camps do. It’s just not my style. I am here to coach you, not scream at you like a drill sergeant.

What should I bring with me and what should I wear?

I recommend you bring a bottle of water, a towel and wear some light loose comfortable clothing and running shoes.

How old do I need to be to train with Look Good Feel Good Fitness?

Participants must be women at least 16 years of age.
